Brad Pitt Races into F1® Arcade for Exclusive Interview with Greg James

Brad Pitt and Damson Idris made a surprise visit to F1® Arcade London earlier this week to talk all things Formula 1® ahead of the new F1® Movie, with BBC Radio 1’s very own Greg James.

Hollywood royalty meets high-octane thrills

The A-list actor, best known for roles in Fight Club, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Bullet Train, stars in the highly anticipated F1® Movie, produced in collaboration with Formula 1® and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

But this wasn’t your average interview.

A Pit Stop Like No Other

Set against the immersive backdrop of F1® Arcade in London, the UK’s premier Formula 1® simulator venue, the interview gave Brad and Damson the chance to step out of the spotlight and into the cockpit. Between laughs and lap times, they chatted about what fans can expect from the new movie, the joys of portraying an F1 driver, and just how immersive our racing simulators are.

“Just like real life.” Damson laughed after going wheel-to-wheel with co-star Brad and BBC 1 host Greg on our cutting-edge motion sims before kicking off the beloved Unpopular Opinions segment.

Behind the Scenes of the F1® Movie

Brad’s F1® Movie has been filmed at real Grand Prix™ weekends, blending scripted drama with real-world racing action. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by Apple Studios, the film follows a veteran F1 driver (played by Pitt) as he returns to the grid to mentor a rising young star.

Filmed at tracks such as Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, anticipation is at an all-time high for what could possibly be one of the most authentic motorsport films ever made.

Before wrapping up the interview, Damson shared his Unpopular Opinion that he was faster than Brad. The stars were enjoying themselves so much that they decided to continue racing, Greg James even forgetting at points to interview the stars due to focusing on racing.

Luckily, our F1® simulators gave the film stars a taste of the speed, strategy, and skill it takes to race at the elite level, with no risk of crashing into a barrier.
