The British Grand Prix is one of the most special fixtures on the F1 calendar. Held at Silverstone, the race has been a staple on the calendar since it held the first ever Formula 1 Grand Prix championship race in May 1950.

The race weekend for track limits started Friday afternoon, with the Red Bull Ring featuring no less than 1200 separate track infringements in 2023, remarkable on the shortest track on the F1® calendar in terms of time to complete a lap.

The European triple header kicked off this weekend as Formula 1 returned to sunny Spain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The F1 Grand Prix wasn’t the only on-track race in Barcelona, with a weekend of support events from F1 Academy, Formula 2 and Formula 3, with the youngest ever feature-race F3 winner.

Jerez in October 1997 was the one and only time two or more drivers have set identical qualifying times in F1. In Jerez three drivers (Villeneuve, Schumacher & Frentzen) completed the same feat Russell and Verstappen managed on Saturday at the Canadian Grand Prix, both clocked 1 minute and 12 seconds to share the front row. Mercedes new front wing seems to work well as Russell’s pole position ended Verstappen’s and Leclerc’s streak of 15 straight poles.

A race which can only be remembered about the management of both the tyres, mastered by Monégasque Charles Leclerc, who was winless from his previous 11 starts from pole to end the 2nd longest streak in history for no wins from pole.
